Frequently Asked Questions

Where areas do you serve?

The Northeast Georgia Food Pantry serves Habersham, Stephens, and surrounding counties.

Our support focuses on seniors, hospice families, veterans, widowed individuals, and adults living with disabilities within this region.

We do not currently operate in the Atlanta area or outside Northeast Georgia. Expansion depends on community donations and available volunteer capacity.

We currently do not operate in the Atlanta area or other regions outside our coverage zone. As community support grows, we hope to expand our reach in the future.

How do people receive food support?

Food boxes are provided through partner referrals from caregivers, nurses, social workers, churches, and community organizations.

Each request is reviewed based on current inventory and donations.

Because our pantry is volunteer-run, the number of boxes we can provide changes from month to month.

What's included in a pantry box?

Box contents vary depending on donations and purchased inventory, but typically include:

  • Canned proteins (chicken, tuna, chili, stew)

  • Vegetables and fruits (canned or dried)

  • Pasta, rice, or beans

  • Breakfast or snack items

  • Shelf-stable pantry staples for 2–3 days of meals

When available, we may include household or hygiene essentials.

Do you deliver food to homes?

Not at this time.

We coordinate food distribution through approved community partners and scheduled pickups within our service area.

Our ability to provide food depends on current inventory, volunteer availability, and local donations.

.

Can I donate food as an individual?

Yes! We welcome individual in-kind food donations.

To help us make the best use of our volunteers' time and gas, we ask that food donations be at least 2 full bags or boxes of non-perishable items. We may also coordinate drop-offs or pickups in our core service areas.

Check out how to Host a Food Drive  for tips on collecting shelf-stable items.

Who runs Northeast Georgia Food Pantry?

Our pantry is 100% volunteer-run by people who care deeply about feeding our neighbors with compassion and no judgment. From packing boxes to organizing pop-up events, our volunteers are the heart of what we do.
