Neighbors Helping Neighbors
The Northeast Georgia Food Pantry is powered by volunteers and the community.
We are grateful for your interest in volunteering with Northeast Georgia Food Pantry. When you volunteer you’re helping feed families with dignity across rural Northeast Georgia.
We're Looking for People Like You!
About Our Volunteers
Our pantry is run by a very small team that believes in doing the work the right way. We live by our core values and are looking for volunteers who share that mindset. Integrity, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others matter more to us than anything else.
We are not a large organization with layers of management. We are looking for self-driven people who want to take ownership of the role they step into and help us serve the community well.
Most opportunities require only a few hours a month to start, with flexibility depending on the role. Many of these positions are a great fit for someone retired, a student looking for real experience, or anyone who wants to make a meaningful impact without a heavy weekly time commitment.
Because our work supports seniors, hospice patients, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, selected volunteers may be asked to complete a background screening.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Community Relations Volunteer
Help us build relationships that allow us to reach more people in need and secure donations from our community. This role focuses on identifying and connecting with local businesses, hospice organizations, home health agencies, veteran centers, and similar groups in Habersham and Stephens County. Responsibilities include finding the right contacts, making introductions, helping schedule meetings, and coordinating monthly food deliveries once partnerships are in place and helping us secure donations from our local community. This is a great role for someone who enjoys community outreach and relationship building.
For the right person, this role could grow into a future board position.
Social Media Volunteer
Help us tell our story and grow our followers and community awareness. This role focuses on creating and posting content about our pantry, the people we serve, and the impact of local support. We are looking for someone who enjoys social media, content creation, and building an audience. Expect to create posts about 3–4 times per week. This is a great opportunity for a student studying marketing or communications, or anyone who has a background creating professional social media content for businesses. Create content that helps a cause.
Food Packing Volunteer
Help us prepare food bags for scheduled deliveries to individuals facing food insecurity. This volunteer helps pack bags ahead of our monthly distributions for seniors, hospice patients, and others in need. This is hands-on work that directly supports our outreach efforts. Scheduling is flexible and would include a few hours a month.
