Thank you for your interest in serving with Northeast Georgia Food Pantry, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are grateful for your time and commitment to helping families in our community. To ensure safety and clarity for everyone, all volunteers are required to review and agree to the following terms.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that volunteer activities may include, but are not limited to: lifting, bending, carrying, walking, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. I accept all risks associated with these activities.

3. Release of Liability

In consideration for being allowed to volunteer, I release and hold harmless Northeast Georgia Food Pantry, its board members, staff, volunteers, and partner organizations from any and all liability, claims, or demands for injuries, illness, accidents, or damages to personal property that may occur during or as a result of my volunteer participation.

4. Medical Treatment Authorization

In the event of an accident, injury, or medical emergency, I authorize the pantry and its representatives to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf. I understand I am responsible for any costs related to such treatment.

5. Insurance Acknowledgment

I understand that Northeast Georgia Food Pantry does not provide health, medical, disability, or workers’ compensation insurance coverage for volunteers.

6. Age Requirement

I understand that volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Volunteers under 18 must have this agreement signed by a parent or guardian.

7. Conduct, Orientation & Non-Discrimination

  • I agree to participate in a volunteer orientation, which will include training on the pantry’s non-discrimination policy and volunteer expectations.

  • I agree to treat all clients, staff, and fellow volunteers with kindness, dignity, and respect, regardless of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or political belief.

  • I understand that any form of discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and may result in my removal as a volunteer.

7.a. Background Screening

Certain volunteer roles may require a background screening due to the guests we serve, including seniors, hospice patients, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. If selected for a role that requires screening, volunteers will be asked to complete a separate authorization form.

8. Photo & Media Release

I grant permission for my photo, video, or likeness taken while volunteering to be used in publications, reports, promotional materials, or social media by Northeast Georgia Food Pantry. (If I do not consent, I will notify staff at check-in.)

9. Confidentiality

I will respect the privacy of the families we serve and will not share personal information about clients outside of pantry activities.
