Hosting a food drive is a simple yet powerful way to make a direct impact in your community. At Northeast Georgia Food Pantry, we make it easy for individuals, schools, churches, and businesses to support local families facing food insecurity. Whether it’s a workplace effort or a neighborhood project, your collected donations will help us fill pantry boxes for our monthly pop-up events.
Step 1: Decide What Kind of Food Drive You Want to Host
You can customize your food drive to fit your group or location:
Traditional Food Drive – Collect shelf-stable pantry staples like canned goods, pasta, and rice.
Theme-Based Drive – Choose a theme like "breakfast foods" or "holiday sides."
Customer or Community Drive – Invite customers or visitors to drop off items at your business or event.
We'll provide a list of most-needed items, signage, and social media graphics to help spread the word.
Step 2: Set Dates and Promote Your Drive
Pick a start and end date, and let your community know! Share on social media, hang flyers, and encourage your network to participate. Be sure to tag @NortheastGeorgiaFoodPantry so we can amplify your efforts.
Step 3: Collect Items
Designate a clean, visible area for collection. Remind donors to only give non-expired, shelf-stable items. We can also help with branded boxes or drop-off bins if needed.
Step 4: Let Us Know When You're Done
Once your food drive wraps up, we’ll arrange a pickup. You don’t have to worry about transporting items — our team will come to you.
Step 5: Celebrate the Impact
We’ll share photos, shoutouts, and totals on our social media pages (with your permission) to recognize your group’s generosity.
